Summary and use: This article describes how there still needs to bee research done on dating violence in adolescents before coming to any conclusions. This article listed several studies that have been done to see of prevention classes actually increase knowledge and improve a teens attitude on dating violence. After analyzing several articles this author comes to the conclusion that more work still needs to be done in this field and maltreatment may increase the risk of dating violence in teens. Overall this article give information on some of the first prevention programs developed and their results.

Summary and use: This article is about a prevention program that was set up in North Carolina and it was called Safe Dates. This article talks about this programs effectiveness in treating and informing teens about dating violence. This program proved to have a significant affect on the teens who participated in this program. This program reported from 56% to 92% less dating violence amongst the participators. This article can be used as an example of how successful having a dating violence prevention program through educational means can be.

Summary and use: This article mainly discusses the health affects that intimate partner violence or dating violence can have on women. Unlike the other articles this article specifically focuses on the health affects of women ages 18-64. This can be used to explain possible affects on teens if no prevention program is set up in schools. I chose this article because in the majority of cases women suffer more from dating violence than do males, so this is why I felt this article was of relevance to my research.

Summary and use: This article focuses on how dating violence can lead to violence in marriage and how these two are directly correlated to on another. Although this article does not focus on teens as a whole it does give incite into possible reasons why violence occurs in dating relationships and when it is more likely to occur or less likely to occur. It also introduces that control is the main cause of violence in all relationships. The man or woman in the relationship may feel like they are losing control, so they use violence to gain back the control they feel they are losing. This article discusses male and female violence, but does have research that proves men are more likely to act in violent ways than females. I could use this article to discuss how control and experience with violent relationships can have affects on current dating violence.
